Exploring Empowerment: One Method for the Classroom

This article describes the importance of empowerment as a business concept and offers a vehicle for exploring its cognitive and affective issues. The authors introduce and explain the concept and provide detailed instructions on how to conduct an empowerment exercise in the classroom. In addition, suggestions are provided for extending the use of the in-basket to other Organizational Behavior topics. Sample materials for conducting the exercise are included.
